PESA at the InnoTrans 2018 trade fair in Berlin – optimistic about the future!
Over 100 meetings at the stand, including those with key clients, such as DB, a press conference with the participation of PFR as a new owner and an agreement with PKP Cargo – this is how we can sum up PESA Bydgoszcz activity at this year’s InnoTrans trade fair.
For PESA Bydgoszcz, the Berlin fair was very important primarily due to the interest of international customers, suppliers and business partners in the situation of the company that is emerging from the crisis. Hence a special briefing for foreign and Polish media with the participation of the President of PESA and the Vice-President of the Polish Development Fund. During the meeting with the media, it was announced that the process of taking over the shares in the company by PFR and the agreement reached with banks on the further financing of PESA’s activities was finalized.
– We are finalizing negotiations with banks and insurers. We will be ready to sign the agreement at the turn of September and October. Commercial institutions and those with the Treasury shareholding are involved in the consortium. – Marcin Piasecki announced, PFR vice-president.
The President of PESA also presented the status of the contract for the supply of vehicles for Deutsche Bahn, which is crucial for the company. At the moment in Germany there are already 16 two-unit LINKs, by the end of October there will be 20 of them, and DB Regio has already started their operation – vehicles manufactured in Bydgoszcz already carry passengers in the vicinity of Dortmund.
– From our point of view, it is very important that after the entry info service of the vehicles and the good opinions they collected, DB agreed to change the way of settling the contract – the first payments have already been received by PESA. Equally important – we holding talks with the DB authorities not only about this project, but about the possibilities of cooperation in the future – said Krzysztof Sędzikowski.
On Thursday, at the PESA stand, appeared the President of the Management Board of DB AG Richard Lutz, with whom Krzysztof Sędzikowski and Marcin Piasecki met. During this conversation, not only the state of implementation of the current agreement was discussed, but also opportunities for cooperation in the future.
– The President of DB assured that he is interested in further cooperation with PESA and subsequent orders, not only for diesel vehicles. I hope that the working meeting on this matter will take place before the end of this year – confirmed the President of PESA.
Declarations of cooperation in the future were also made during talks with other carriers, and everything seems to indicate that in the coming years PESA’s export will increase significantly, both on the western and eastern Europe markets.
The InnoTrans fair, held every two years in Berlin, is the most important global meeting of the railway industry, this year 3062 exhibitors took part in it, and the manufacturers showed 155 rail vehicles.
Although PESA did not present its products at Innotrans, to the surprise of some of the media, on the cover of the first issue of MesseKurier, a picture of Pesa Dart from previous fairs was found.
Two important celebrations await the Bydgoszcz company in the near future – first on September 27 in Rzeszów, the completion of the ELF2 supply contract for the PodkarpackieVoivodeship and ELF2 presentation in a special painting referring to the 100th anniversary of Poland’s regaining independence, and on November 8 in Dortmund, a solemn presentation of diesel LINKs for Deutsche Bahn.
